Case Study 4:  Manufacturing Industry.  Having considered its overall operations, this NZ manufacturing and distribution company reached a decision ratified by the Board to close a regional operation. Work could potentially be completed through the other regionally based Distribution Centres and and other warehouses with a new smaller cross dock facility but the result would be full site closure of Distribution Centre (65 – 120 staff affected) with minimal individuals provided with options to relocate some roles to Auckland with the remainder facing redundancy.
